Ingredients:
broiler chicken with skin, cut into medium sized pieces – 1 kg
oil – 3 tbs
Whole spices: 1 stick cinnamon.
2 cardamoms,
2 cloves.
1 bunch of methi leaves, cleaned and chopped
2 small onions, ground to a paste
garlic ginger paste – 1 tbs
turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
chilli powder – 2 tsp
coriander powder – 1 tbs
1 large tomato, chopped
3/4 cup water
salt – 2 tsp.
Method:
1. Heat 3 tbs. oil in a pressure cooker.
2. Add whole spices, fry for a minute.
3. Add methi leaves, fry for a minute till brown.
4. Add onion paste, fry for a minute till light brown.
5. Add garlic ginger paste, fry for a minute till light brown.
6. Add cumin powder, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and chopped tomatoes. Fry for a minute.
7. Add chicken and 3/4 cup water and salt. Close the cooker and cook for about 3 minutes till chicken is done
Goes well with rice, rotis and dosas.
