Ingredients:
1/4 kg – bitter gourd
2 – onions big
Tamarind – small lemon sized
1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
salt – as required
oil – for frying

Fry in oil and then Grind together:
11/2 Tbl.sp. – Bengal gram dhal
10 – red chillies
3 or 4 – small onions (peeled)
2 Tbl.sps. – coconut grated

Method:
Chop onions finely and bitter gourd into 1/2 inch pieces.
Soak bitter gourd pieces in the water in which rice is washed, for half an hour. (This removes
   bitterness from gourd)
Wash well and cook in thin tamarind water with little turmeric and salt.
When gourd is soft to touch drain water completely.
Heat little oil and fry bengal gram, red chillies, coconut. Add garlic, onion at the end and fry for a
   minute. Grind to smooth paste, with little water.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan and fry chopped onions and bitter gourd together in medium flame
   for a longtime stirring constantly till gourd changes its colour.
Add ground paste and salt.
Fry well and remove from fire.
